Mahesh Pandit
Celebrating Heritage and Innovation
Renowned artist Mahesh Pandit, inspired by his father Jawahar Pandit, has revolutionized ceramic artistry since taking over their studio in 1999. Jawaharji, a passionate potter who founded the studio in 1984 after moving from Bihar to Bombay, laid the foundation with his dedication and love for the craft. Since taking over, Mahesh has taken forward all the traditional values, giving it his own modern edge. One such pivot was embracing Leafbud’s philosophy of authenticity and uniqueness, Mahesh crafts limited edition pieces that merge tradition with innovation.
Under Mahesh’s guidance, the studio saw significant advancements, including the construction of an oil furnace and a gas furnace, enhancing the quality and diversity of their ceramic creations. His commitment to excellence and innovation has earned his studio recognition across India, with exhibitions in Bombay, Pune, and Hyderabad showcasing his work.
Mahesh’s creations are celebrated for their unique designs and exceptional quality, aligning perfectly with Leafbud’s ethos of crafting remarkable, artisanal products. His guiding principle of prioritizing art over commercialization ensures each piece is a true work of art, sought after by discerning collectors.
Beyond his artistic achievements, Mahesh is dedicated to community service, conducting workshops and offering training at an NGO in Mahim to orphaned students, sharing the joy and skills of ceramic artistry.
At Leafbud, we proudly collaborate with Mahesh Pandit to bring his exceptional artistry to our customers, celebrating the synergy of tradition, innovation, and community spirit.
