Meet Tripti Saxena: The Artist Behind Our New Ceramic Collection

Tripti Saxena didn’t begin as a ceramic artist. She spent years working for a corporation, doing sales, attending meetings, and going through the motions. But at some point, she knew she wanted something else. That “something” turned out to be clay.
What began as self-exploration soon turned into a full-time pursuit. Tripti quit her job, learned studio pottery, and gradually established a space where she could work by hand, on her timeline, with her equipment.
Love For Simplicity and Texture
Tripti Saxena aesthetic is not that of pursuing perfection. Her pieces tend to have subtle differences, gentle fabrics, and natural colours. They’re the type of pieces you would want to wear every day without being overly precious about them.
There is a low-key elegance in the way she works with material. A coffee mug, a bowl, a planter, whatever it is, each object is solid, earthy, and functional. You can tell they were made by someone who knows how we live–disorganised kitchens, silent mornings, hectic dinners, and all.
The Leafbud Collaboration: Emotional Resonance
With Leafbud, Tripti developed a special range of functional ceramics, like, tumblers, mugs, bowls, planters, and oil lamps that reflect her considered approach to making.
The designs are crisp and minimal, with subdued hues. Everything doesn’t feel overly-designed. They are pieces that don’t strive to be noticed, but positively catch your attention. The kind of items you find yourself picking up time and time again because they simply do the job, on your shelf, on your table, or in your hand.
Many of her glazes are inspired by nature, featuring muted greens, soft browns, and off-whites that evoke a calming feel. She often says she likes her work to “sit quietly” in a home, rather than stand out too much. There’s a sense of balance in that approach. They blend easily with different spaces, whether it’s a cozy kitchen or a sunlit balcony. That flexibility is what makes her ceramics so lovable.
Everyday Pieces, Made Well
One of the most endearing aspects of ceramic artist Tripti Saxena work is how her creations seamlessly blend into everyday life. A generous mug for your tea in the morning. A tiny bowl for something to munch on. A planter that doesn’t scream for attention but still brings personality to a corner.
These pieces don’t need to be “styled.” Just employ them. Let them weather. Let them build stories.
Now Available at Leafbud
You can now view Tripti Saxena’s collection as part of Leafbud‘s ongoing series with Indian ceramic artists. Made in limited batches, the pieces are intended to be lived with, not merely viewed.
In a world of mass-produced everything, it’s a delight to have something that’s crafted with care and attention. You can sense it in your hands. It has weight, it has warmth, and it has quiet personality.
Ceramic artist Tripti Saxena creations remind us to slow down a bit, to sip a cup of chai, to tend to our space, to take care of things with love. And really, that’s a small pleasure we all need.

“It’s not just about using my ceramics, it’s about them becoming part of someone’s everyday rhythm. A favorite mug, a bowl passed around at dinner, that’s where the real beauty is.” –
